Working with children, pre-teens and teens

Every stage of childhood and adolescence comes with unique challenges—and no one should have to navigate them alone. I specialize in working with children and teens ages 3 to 18, providing developmentally appropriate support for both everyday struggles and more complex concerns.

Young Children (Ages 3–9)

For younger children, I use play-based therapy, family counseling, and social-emotional learning activities to support growth and connection. I help kids build skills in areas such as:

  • Meeting developmental milestones

  • Managing big feelings and behavior changes

  • Strengthening social skills and friendships

  • Adjusting to school and family transitions

Pre-Teens (Ages 10–12)

The pre-teen years are a time of rapid change and self-discovery. I guide children in navigating:

  • Bullying, peer pressure, and cyberbullying

  • Developing self-esteem and independence

  • Handling family or peer conflict

  • Understanding and preparing for puberty and body changes

Teens (Ages 13–18)

Adolescence can feel overwhelming as teens balance identity, independence, and the pressures of today’s world. I provide a safe, judgment-free space to address:

  • Stress, anxiety, and depression

  • Identity, self-image, and self-acceptance

  • Friendships, dating, and relationship boundaries

  • Addiction, risky behaviors, and peer influences

  • Coping with trauma and life transitions

My Approach

I combine Attachment Therapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Trauma-Focused Counseling to meet each child where they are. For neurodivergent youth, I offer tailored strategies that highlight their strengths while addressing challenges. My goal is always to help children and teens feel safe, understood, and empowered—while also giving families practical tools for connection and growth.
