Our Therapeutic Treatments
At The Rooted Refuge, we believe there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. In addition to our core therapies, we draw from a variety of other evidence-based and creative modalities to meet your unique needs. These approaches allow us to tailor therapy for children, teens, adults, and families—offering flexible tools that support growth, connection, and lasting change.

Attachment Therapy
Attachment therapy supports you in creating and repairing safe, healthy connections with others. You’ll learn how to strengthen trust, improve communication, and build deeper bonds in your most important relationships.

Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy helps you reconnect with your body and release stress or trauma that can get “stuck” inside. Through gentle, body-based practices, you’ll find new ways to heal, ground yourself, and restore your sense of safety.

Narrative Therapy
In Narrative Therapy, you’re invited to explore and reframe the stories you tell about yourself and your life. By separating your identity from your problems, you gain the freedom to create new, empowering narratives that reflect your strengths and values.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
DBT gives you tools to manage big emotions, reduce impulsivity, and improve your relationships. You’ll learn mindfulness, distress tolerance, and communication skills that help you find balance and strength when life feels overwhelming.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
TF-CBT helps you process painful or traumatic experiences in a structured, supportive environment. By gently working through thoughts, feelings, and memories connected to trauma, you'll build coping skills and move toward healing at a pace that feels safe for you.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
In CBT, you’ll learn how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful patterns and practice new ways of thinking and responding so you can feel more in control and confident in daily life.

Internal Family Systems
IFS helps you get to know the different “parts” of yourself—like the protective parts and the hurt parts that hold pain. By understanding and caring for all of your parts, you’ll feel more balanced, whole, and compassionate toward yourself.
Gottman Method
(for Couples/Co-Parents)
With the Gottman Method, you and your partner (or co-parent) learn evidence-based tools to strengthen communication, manage conflict, and deepen connection. This approach gives you practical strategies to build trust, respect, and lasting relationships.
Expressive Arts Therapy
Through poetry and writing, you’ll have a safe and creative outlet to explore your thoughts and emotions. This approach helps you process experiences, discover new perspectives, and express yourself in ways that words alone might not capture.
